Once you have crossed the High Atlas along the Tiz’n Tichka Pass, the province capital Quarzazate lies at the foot of the mountains.
This is where the film industry is at home.
For all those interested in film, a visit to the resident film studios may be worth a visit.
From Ouarzazate you can cross the Kasbahs road to the Dades and Todra gorges.
From there you can reach Merzouga and the dunes of the Erg Chebbi and on to the Middle Atlas and Fès.
Quarzazate is also a good starting point for desert trekking in the dunes of Erg Lihoudi or Erg Chegaga in the M’Hamid region.

Itinerary:
Day 1:
We will pick you up at 9:00 AM from your hotel in Ouarzazate. From there we continue south. In Agdz we leave the road and make an off-road trip through the Palmerie, with a very nice view point.
Back on the main road we continue through the green Draa valley, via Zagora to M’Hamid, we will have lunch there.
After the lunch break, you will ride on a camel, accompanied by a guide, app. 2 hours to our desert camp in the dunes of Erg Lihoudi.
Here you will be welcomed with “Berber Whisky”, mint tea, and pastries.
In the camp, you can explore the magical dunes, or try the sandboarding.
The dinner and the overnight stay are in the camp.
Once it is dark you can watch the stars while listening to nomade music at the campfire. We are happy to take you on a walk through the dunes by moonlight!
Day 2:
It is especially nice to watch the sunrise, sitting on a dune ridge!
After breakfast we drive, back to Zagora, where we have lunch. On the way we pass Tamgrout, there is a traditional pottery, if you like we visit a pottery workshop with you.
Afterwards we continue with small breaks, back to Ouarzazate, where we will arrive in the afternoon.

After breakfast, we will take you in the SUV through the rocky Sahara (Hamada), interrupted by sand dunes (Erg) and dry river beds to the oasis Sacré (holy oasis), here we will have lunch. In time for the sunset, we will reach the vast dunes of Erg Chigaga, the largest group of sand dunes in the area. It reaches a height of 300 m and a width of 40 km.
You will spend the night in a permanent bivouac, in nomadic tents, or under the glittering sky, as you wish. After dinner, we will watch the stars and make our traditional Nomad music at the bond fire.
Day 3:
After another night in the enchanting silence of the desert and after a good breakfast we drive, again off-road, to M’Hamid, there is a little rest. From there we continue to Zagora, where we have lunch. On the way to Zagora we pass Tamgrout, there is a traditional pottery, if you like we can visit the pottery workshop with you. Afterwards we drive with small breaks in between, back to Ouarzazate, where we will arrive in the afternoon.

Early in the morning you climb the dunes to enjoy the sunrise.
After that the desert breakfast tastes twice as good! Today our tour follows the old Paris-Dakar-piste on the flat Lac Iriki. Mostly the lake has dried up for years, but it actually happens that rains in the north bring torrential streams and flood everything.
After passing the salt pan of Lack Iriki, we reach Foum Zguid. Here the road begins again, and we contine on to Tazenakht, where we have lunch.
By the afternoon we reach Ouarzazate again.
