Climatically, Morocco is divided into two parts. The northwest of the country is influenced by the Mediterranean, while the southern part is influenced by the Saharan climate. The Atlas Mountains form a kind of climatic boundary. A mountainous climate prevails in the mountainous regions.
In the High and Middle Atlas Mountains, snow can be expected from January to early March. A mountain trekking tour is best planned for the months of April to early July and September to the end of November. In the Sahara, south of the High Atlas, there is an extremely dry desert climate. Summers are very hot, even at night! Winters are mild, but sometimes surprisingly cold, especially at night. Rainfall is very irregular and rarely reaches 200 l/m2 per year, so agriculture is only possible in irrigated oases.
For city trips and tours in the interior, of the country as well as for trekking tours in the Sahara, the months from mid-September to early June are the best time.
For a Moroccan beach holiday, the summer months from July to October are the best time. Destinations like Agadir and Essaouira now enjoy perfect conditions, with pleasantly warm daytime temperatures and water temperatures of 19 to 22 degrees Celsius.
